Instead it introduces them to 3 dimensional thinking and looking at objects from a different angle. The best 3D printing pens are also totally harmless. All they do is extrude plastic filament that hardens the second it leaves the pen. So you don’t have to worry about burning yourself or making a mess either. Overall 3D pens are a lot of fun. 1. Soyan Standard 3D Printing Pen for Kids – $29
Another option for kids is the Soyan Standard 3D printing pen. It’s one of the most popular pens on Amazon and has tons of reviews. Plus it has a fantastic price tag and different options to make 3D printing more adjustable. Such as a temperature changing feature and even an adjustable nozzle. So while this sounds too complicated for kids, you don’t have to use all these features to 3D print. But it’s still good to have them once your kid gets better and more advanced!
The Soyan Standard looks pretty much as the same as the Kuman 100B 3D printing pen. The only real difference in terms of design is the absence of an LCD screen and the feature to change temperature. Which is fine for kids as you want to keep it as simple as possible. The shape of the 3D pen is pretty ergonomic and definitely suitable for smaller hands. It still has a slider for controlling the speed and two filament in/out buttons.
The best part about the Soyan Standard 3D printing pen is that it’s reliable. It’s so simple that it just works straight out of the box. I haven’t had any problems with clogging and judging from the reviews on Amazon, neither have others. The pen uses 1.75mm diameter ABS plastic filament. You also get 3 rolls (3m per loop) of the filament with the 3D pen. Oh and it uses a power adapter attached to a cable as a power source. It’s a simple and affordable 3D pen that gets the job done.

2. Kuman 100B – $30
The best 3D pens aren’t always the most expensive options. There are plenty of pens for all budgets and sometimes it’s a good idea to start with a cheaper one anyways. Maybe you’ll lose interest in a couple of weeks. Kuman 100B is one of such affordable options. It does everything you’ll want from a 3D pen. Plus you don’t really lose in terms of printing quality either. So it’s an excellent 3D pen for beginners and children!
The Kuman 100B is fully made out of plastic. It has a pretty simple design which is fine in my opinion. Especially considering the price. Still it’s nice to hold onto and easy to use. It also comes with some features. The pen is equipped with a tiny LCD screen. It displays the filament type you are using and a small LED light. The LED light turns from red to green to notify you when the pen is ready to be used. There are also buttons for rolling the filament in and out. Also a slider for adjusting the print speed.
Since you don’t have to worry about setting the temperature yourself, it’s also quite easy to use the pen. Which again is perfect for children and beginners. The pen also uses a cable and a wall adapter. As far as printing goes, it works. Unlike some of the other cheaper 3D pens, the Kuman 100B rarely ever clogs. Well mine has never clogged but nothing is ever 100%. Kuman has added some special unclogging mechanism to the pen and it definitely seems to work!

And if you want to stop or pause, then press the orange button again. PS! Do charge the pen before using it. It took me around 1.5 hours to fully charge it so it takes a while. Most of the best 3D pens are currently in the $50 price range. That’s when you start seeing features such as speed control, OLED screens and temperature adjustments. Techboss Intelligent 3D pen is one of those that fit the criteria. And it’s also one of the highest rated and most popular ones on Amazon. So that already meant that I had to try it and include it into the list. Which definitely wasn’t wrong, as it’s one of the best 3D printing pens you can get for $50!
What I quite like about the Techboss Intelligent 3D pen is the design. The pen doesn’t have a basic straight lined body. Instead there is a little curvature that makes holding the pen so much more comfortable. Even the button placement makes using it so much easier. And there are quite a bit of those. There are two buttons for speed control, two for filament in/out and even two for material/temperature. Plus a small OLED screen that displays the temperature and material you are using. Another highly rated 3D printing pen on Amazon is the AdroitOne V4. It’s a fantastic mid level 3D pen which provides more flexibility than the cheaper models. Out of all the other best 3D pens here, the MYNT3D is probably the most popular one. Well in terms of media attention at least. The company has received plenty of coverage from known news agents such as FOX, abc and CBS. Which doesn’t necessarily mean that the product is good. But in this case it actually is. 9. 3Doodler Create 3d Printing Pen – $83
3Doodler was the first company ever to create a 3D pen. It all started back in 2013, when they created a Kickstarter campaign and raised over $3.5 million. Unlike many other Kickstarter projects, theirs was a success and they are still running strong. So it’s no surprise that they have a line of the best 3D pens. One of such is already on my list, the “Start” pen for children. The next one in line is the “Create” 3D printing pen, which has way more features and allows you to do more.
The 3Doodler Create we have now is much different from the original one that was created back in 2013. It has received plenty of significant upgrades. One of those is the design and build quality. The new 3Doodler Create has a super sleek and aesthetic design. The case is made out of aluminium that gives it a premium feel. Which is exactly what I’d expect from a more expensive 3D pen as well. Also it’s smaller than most other best 3D pens. I’d say that it’s around the size of a whiteboard market, which makes it super easy to hold onto.
Printing is also extremely easy with the 3Doodler Create. They have literally made it as simple as possible. There are two buttons for slow and fast printing. Pushing one of those buttons again will stop the print. There is also a slider for changing the temperature level. You can’t exactly change temperature based on degrees, instead there is a low and high switch. Low is for PLA and High is for ABS. It also comes with plenty of accessories and you can also buy extras from the 3Doodler shop. They even have different size nozzles for if you want to print thicker filaments. Oh and the pen even comes with 50 strands of filament! That’s a lot compared to what you get with other 3D pens!

10. CreoPop 3D Printing Pen – $130
CreoPop is a company that has created the most unique 3D printing pen in the world. While most 3D pens use a plastic filament and melt it with heat, then the CreoPop doesn’t use heat at all. Instead of a filament, the next generation 3D pen uses an ink gel that is hardened with UV lights. That turns the gel into the plastic and you achieve the same result as you would with the ordinary 3D pens. This new technology does of course come at a higher price. But if you are concerned about heat and want something even safer for your children, then CreoPop might be something to look at.
The CreoPop 3D printing pen looks like no other. It has a totally modern and high tech design that screams quality. I also really like the slight curve in the shape that makes it comfortable to hold and use. It just fits into your hand so nicely. They have even positioned the buttons perfectly. The printing button is right at the head of the pen, so when you hold onto it, the button naturally stays under your index finder. There are also two buttons for turning on the pen and changing the printing speed. Also LED lights that indicate the battery level. And yes, this is a wireless 3D printing pen!
As surprising as this may sound, the CreoPop 3D printing pen does actually work! Using it is like magic. It uses gel cartridges that release gel like ink when printing. The UV lights harden it practically instantly and you get 3D printed plastic. It’s also completely safe for children and you don’t have to worry about them burning themselves as there are no heat elements. The pen also comes with a USB cable for charging. It has a built-in battery so you can use it anywhere you want. Oh and the 3D pen comes with 3 ink cartridges!
