Senso Bluetooth Headphones Review
The budget Bluetooth headphone range is full of different brands and options. But the problem is finding ones that won’t immediately break. Well the Senso ActivBuds S-250 Bluetooth headphones are insanely popular on Amazon. They are the highest rated and most sold out of all the other budget options. Which should mean that they are good and worth the money. Well that’s why we decided to review them and see for ourselves how good they really are!
In The Box
- Senso Bluetooth Headphones
- 3 sets of ear tips (Small, Medium, Large)
- Carry case
- MicroUSB to USB charging cable
The Senso Bluetooth headphones are designed for working out. They have a sporty look which also makes them bigger than most normal headphones. Both of the sides have a small panel that have ear hooks and your typical earbuds. The ear hooks are made out of flexible rubber and can’t be removed. They can feel somewhat weird at first behind your ear but I got used to them quite fast.
Seneo has also included 3 sets of different size ear tips. Those include a Small, Medium and Large. They are pretty traditionally sized and are made out of silicone. So nothing really special about them.
As you can see from the design, the two earpieces are connected via a flat cable. This is actually pretty nice as it’s durable and doesn’t get tangled up. It will stay behind your neck while you are wearing the headphones. The right ear side also holds the controls for changing the volume, turning it on and switching songs. There is also a small MicroUSB port for charging the wireless headphones.
Overall the Senso Bluetooth headphones are surprisingly well designed. Especially considering the price. They even have an IPX7 water resistance rating. It means that the device is sweat proof and it can even be underwater for 30 minutes (up to 30 cm / 1 ft). Which means that you can’t go swimming with it, but they will definitely survive a gym session. Plus they come with a nice solid where you can hold them. I don’t personally use it but I can see the appeal of having something like this if you want to go travelling with them.
Just like most wireless headphones, Senso also uses Bluetooth to connect to external devices. It has a range of 10 m / 30 ft, which is pretty standard in this price range. It’s also measured in an open area. So the range is much lower if there are walls etc in between. But for working out, the 10 m / 30 ft range should definitely be enough. At least I haven’t had any problems at my gym and I usually leave my phone near the equipment while walking around between exercising.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones don’t have a cable option so you can use them as long as there’s juice in the battery. The battery life is around 8 hours of continuous music. It takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge it. So overall pretty decent.
When it comes to the sound quality, the Senso ActivBuds S-250 are definitely better than what you’d expect. They are somewhat heavy on bass which is pretty standard for budget headphones. The mids and highs are okay but nothing special. These are basically good for listening to EDM and rap music. Anything that emphasizes bass over everything else. Which is still pretty good for working out as those are the two most popular genres while lifting weights and cardio. It doesn’t mean that you can’t listen to other genres, it’s just that don’t expect any crazy quality from it. Rock music is fine as well.
The Senso ActivBuds S-250 Bluetooth headphones aren’t bad at all. On the contrary, they are surprisingly well made considering the price of them. They are definitely good for working out as nobody really wants to take expensive headphones to the gym. Plus you don’t need to worry about the speakers breaking as they are sweatproof. So overall they are definitely worth getting.
Senso has even included some extras with them. Such as a magnetic car vent mount and a sleeve for your smartphone. I know that some versions instead include a dual port car charger and a dual lightning and MicroUSB charging cable. The headphones etc are the exact same in both though.
